Terms of Service
Pit Lane Legends is a daily racing game for our social-media community. The core game is free to play. We also offer optional paid memberships (“Pit Pass”) billed as recurring monthly subscriptions. By joining, signing in, or buying a membership you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
These Terms are between you and MDesigns I/S (“we”, “us”), a general partnership (I/S) established in Denmark. Our full legal and contact details are on our company information page.
1. Who can use it — minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to have an account. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country (for example 13 in Denmark; 13–16 across the EU; 13 in the UK and US), you may only use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Paid monthly memberships are for adults (18+). If you are under 18, a parent or guardian can buy you a one-time gift membership instead — see “Memberships” below.
2. Accounts & login
You can join with a claim code or by signing in with Instagram or TikTok. We use that only to identify your racer (username + account id). You must own the account you sign in with, you must not impersonate anyone else, and you're responsible for activity on your account. We may retire an account that breaks these Terms.
3. Memberships (Pit Pass)
Memberships are optional and give cosmetic and convenience benefits only — for example priority screen-time in the race videos, announcer name call-outs, a member badge and name-tag colour, watching replays from other points of view, and creating or joining more private “friends leagues”. Memberships never make your car faster. Car performance is only ever earned in the garage; we don't sell speed, wins, or competitive advantage.
Recurring billing. Each paid tier is a subscription that automatically renews every month at the then-current price until you cancel. The current price of each tier (and the total you'll be charged) is shown clearly on the Shop and on the secure checkout page before you confirm. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't store your card details. Charges appear on your statement under our billing descriptor.
Renewal & price changes. Your membership renews automatically each month. If we change a price or what a tier includes, we'll tell you in advance and the change takes effect at your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you don't want it.
Cancelling. You can cancel anytime from Manage membership (the Stripe billing portal) in the Shop. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep your benefits until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't charge a cancellation fee. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.
Your right to cancel (EU/UK “cooling-off”). If you live in the EU or UK you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a new subscription. Because a membership is digital content you can use immediately, when you buy you ask us to start it right away and acknowledge that doing so means you lose that 14-day right once the service has begun. How to exercise it (and what happens if you do) is set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Gifts. An adult (18+) can buy a one-time gift membership for someone else, including a teenager aged 13–17. The adult who pays is our customer, is responsible for the payment, and confirms they are the parent/guardian or have their permission. A gift is a one-time purchase — it does not set up recurring billing.
4. Virtual items & coins
Coins, parts and upgrades are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use features inside the game. They are not your property, have no real-world or cash value, cannot be bought with real money, cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for money, and may change or reset as we balance the game. Paying for a membership does not buy, back, or redeem coins. If your account is closed or retired, any coins and items are forfeited.
5. Acceptable use
Don't abuse the service, cheat or try to game the simulation, run alternate accounts to farm rewards, harass people in our comments/DMs/Discord, impersonate real people, or post unlawful or hateful content. Full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or retire an account that breaks them.
6. Content you appear in
Race videos that include your handle are published on our social channels as part of the league — that's the point of the game. By joining you grant us a non-exclusive, revocable licence to show your public handle/username and your in-game results in those videos and on our pages. You can ask us to retire your racer at any time and we'll stop featuring you going forward (see data deletion).
7. Third-party platforms
Pit Lane Legends is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta/Instagram, TikTok, Discord, Stripe, Formula 1, or any racing series, team, driver, or circuit. Their names and any real-world track or event names are used only to describe the game. Posting to and using those platforms is subject to their own terms and availability.
8. No warranty
The game is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy of results, or continued operation, to the fullest extent the law allows. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 100. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law (including, in the EU/UK, your statutory and consumer-protection rights), or our liability for death/personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be excluded.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a material change we'll post the new version with a new “last updated” date and, for paid members, give reasonable advance notice before it takes effect. If you don't accept a change, your remedy is to stop using the service and cancel any membership before the change takes effect.
11. Termination
You can leave at any time and ask us to delete your data (see data deletion) — we'll also cancel any active subscription so you aren't charged again. We may suspend or retire an account that breaks these Terms; if we do, we'll cancel future billing.
12. Governing law & your rights
These Terms are governed by the law of Denmark, and disputes may be brought in its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live: you keep those rights, and you can bring proceedings in your home courts where the law allows.
13. Resolving disputes
Please contact us first at webshop@mdesigns.dk — most issues are billing questions we can fix quickly. If we can't resolve it, consumers can use out-of-court schemes: in Denmark, the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority's Center for Klageløsning / Forbrugerklagenævnet (see also forbrug.dk). Consumers elsewhere in the EU can use their own national consumer authority or dispute-resolution body.
14. General
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms (with the policies they link to) are the whole agreement between us about the service. You may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours to a successor of the game. We aren't responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, and not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it.
See our Privacy Policy for what we store and why, and our company information for who we are.
